About Carsten Brandt
I am an amateur photographer living in the suburbs of Copenhagen. I have a past as a camera salesman, teacher of photography, free lance journalist for different Danish photo magazines, member of a well known camera club (Amager Fotoklub), participant in censored exhibitions (Charlottenborgs Forårsudstilling), and artist of a few solo exhibitions. My living for the last 25 years has primary been paid with a job in the IT industry.
I have once participated in a workshop with Gary Winogrand, the famous American street photographer, and I use his famous words as my own: “I photograph things to find out how they look in photographs”. I just use the strategy on another part of the reality. Another area which interests me, is the construction / reconstruction of nature you typical find in museums of natural history and zoological gardens.
